Description
Step aboard this beautiful Cygnus GM19 and you get everything a classic wooden launch should be — varnished hardwood, hand-finished gunwales, and the kind of quiet craftsmanship that turns heads on any river or harbour. Built on the renowned Cygnus GM19 hull by the celebrated Salcombe shipwright known locally as "Banger", Melia was first launched in 2020, having been commissioned by the current owner and remaining under the same ownership from new.
What she doesn't come with is the usual wooden-boat hassle. Underneath the good looks is all the practicality of a modern GRP launch: an immaculate, easy-access bilge, a hinged engine box that makes servicing quick and simple, and a full-displacement round-bilge hull that's exceptionally stable and easy to helm. She's the rare combination — the craftsmanship of a wooden launch with the worry-free motoring of a fibreglass one.
Currently dry stored ashore and not kept afloat, Melia has seen minimal use since her build, and it shows — her condition throughout, on deck and below, is exceptional. She represents a rare chance to own a bespoke, shipwright-built launch in as-new order, at a fraction of the cost and wait of commissioning new. Viewing very highly recommended.
She's also a genuinely practical boat to own and use. Melia comes with a console cover, full boat cover, and cushions throughout. Other features include a Garmin VHF, chartplotter, anchor and Fusion system — modern electronics that mean she's ready to go from day one, making for easy, enjoyable days afloat for the whole family.
