The Cape 31 is a high performance 31 foot race boat that not only is a great one design boat, it also wins under rating systems. She has won class in multiple Caribbean events, the UK IRC Nationals as well as sweeping the podium at the 2022 Les Voiles de St Tropez and winning the San Francisco Big Boat Series. Unquestionably fast, exhilarating and forgiving, with over 60 boats now sold, the class is truly set to go global. 

Masterminded by Lord Irvine Laidlaw, designed by Mark Mills and built by licensed boat builder Cape Performance Sailing in Cape Town. Teams usually sail 7 up on this latest generation race boat. The class rule prefers owner driver (always amateur) and a mixed crew of amateurs and professionals while colourful boats are always very much encouraged!! The ethos of the class is fun, fair racing with an emphasis of having as much fun off the water as on it.
