Description
Extensively Refit 2023–2026 | Carbon Sails | Immaculate Condition
This beautifully presented 2006 Grand Soleil 50 is an exceptional example of Cantiere del Pardo’s celebrated Italian performance cruiser, now offered for sale in Göcek, Turkey following an extensive multi-year refit and upgrade programme.
Designed to combine elegant styling, exhilarating sailing performance and refined cruising comfort, the Grand Soleil 50 remains one of the most sought-after yachts in her class. Fast, balanced and rewarding under sail, she is equally capable as a luxury Mediterranean cruiser or a serious regatta platform.
Purchased by her current owner in 2008 in virtually “as new” condition after very limited use by the first owner, the yacht has benefited from meticulous ownership ever since. Importantly, she has had no accidents and has undergone a comprehensive cosmetic and technical renewal between 2023 and 2026.
Most notably, the hull was professionally repainted in stunning Awlgrip Majestic Blue as part of a year-long refinement project along with the coach roof and deck fittings, undertaken purely because the original gelcoat had begun to lose its depth of colour over time. At the same time, the rig underwent a major professional service and now presents in near-new condition.
Further investment includes a complete engine-out rebuild of the Volvo Penta MD75 in 2024, renewal of engine mounts, new engine room insulation, upgraded water systems, refurbished teak in the cockpit, modern carbon sail inventory and numerous mechanical and cosmetic improvements throughout.
Presented in truly outstanding condition, this Grand Soleil 50 offers a rare opportunity to acquire a highly upgraded, fast cruising yacht with striking looks, proven pedigree and exceptional owner care.
Broker’s Comments
This Grand Soleil 50 represents one of the finest examples currently available on the market.
The level of investment carried out by the current owner is immediately apparent both cosmetically and mechanically. Unlike many yachts where cosmetic repainting masks deferred maintenance, this yacht’s Awlgrip repaint formed part of a far broader programme of renewal that included major rig servicing, engine rebuilding, updated sail inventory, teak refurbishment and extensive systems work.
The result is a yacht that presents dramatically newer than her age would suggest.
Particularly impressive is the sail package, featuring UK Sails carbon sails equivalent to North 3Di technology, including 2022 mainsail and genoa together with a brand-new genoa for 2026. Combined with electric Harken winches, folding propeller, serviced rig and balanced Judel/Vrolijk hull design, she offers serious performance potential while remaining manageable for short-handed cruising.
The Grand Soleil 50 has always occupied a unique position in the market, elegant enough for luxury cruising, yet genuinely rewarding for experienced sailors. This example captures that balance perfectly.
