The characteristics of this type of boat are as follows:
Larger sail area - Deeper keel - Better quality and more complete rigging
Finer hull, lower and therefore lighter - Large cockpit designed for efficient maneuvering (and very comfortable!)
Comfort practically equivalent to that of "cruiser" boats.
Performance is significantly superior to that of a classic cruising boat. The gain is most noticeable in light winds and on the wind. With 10 knots of wind, the Bavaria 35 Match sails at 6 knots at less than 40° to the wind compared to 4 knots at more than 45° to the wind for a classic boat.
