Description
TEMPEST was launched in 1974, a near sister to Jim Kilroy's KIALOA III.
1st to Bermuda in 1976, held Vineyard Race record for 20 years, won her class in the Transpac.
TEMPEST was completely rebuilt and relaunched by Holland Jachtbouw as a new 1974/2000 yacht.
After the 2000 refit TEMPEST has done some racing, for example the 2003 Daimler Chrysler North Atlantic Challenge (New York to Hamburg) or the 2005 Rolex Transatlantic Challenge (New York to Cowes), and as been used mainly as family cruising yacht. Further refits in 2010/2025 left her in excellent condition.
